1000 Years 04:05
On a trip across the Milky Way I’m in the 31st century Ice skating on Uranus and getting a tan on Mercury Watching a black hole from my observatory dome Set co-ordinates for Beetlejuice it’s time to head back home While I sat in my rocket - I watched a documentary The history of Planet Earth and how we used to be Corruption in the government - CO2 in the sky Obesity and poverty were the norms far back in time Sucked into a world while trapped in 2017 Trapped in the dark ages of reality TV A hole in space in space-time was missed by my quantum computer My family now live 1000 years in the future I was robbed of my life in the golden age of man Now I work at a chippy scrubbing plates in a dishpan At night I dream of Andromeda and my home in deep space In the day I try to fix my rocket so I can ditch this place Eight years of building and I’ve made something I can fly This is a primitive planet I can’t wait to say goodbye But as I took off back to my reality NASA shot me down and gave me psychotherapy Sucked into a world while trapped in 2017 Trapped in the dark ages of reality TV A hole in space in space-time was missed by my quantum computer My family now live 1000 years in the future 1000 years in the future…

Why do you never understand? All I need is your hand It’s like I live in a cage I’d like to see the world Coming out of my shell I’d like to see inside your mind Should I run from this place I want to conquer you The walls are closing in Why do you think I can be cured? My anxiety hits panic I’m panicking I’m all cramped in this space With nothing but limited air Can you help me get away? Please can someone save me? I’m not trapped in the dark I’ve found home in my heart Trying to get my head fixed I feel claustrophobia The walls are closing in Why do you think I can be cured? My anxiety hits panic I’m panicking You won’t ever understand I won’t ask for your hand You’re not the one on display In front of the whole world No more need for this shell I can see straight through your mind Look away from this place Leave you conquered too Can’t get away Up to the light Just want someone by my side I just want you by my side I’m starting to give up I can’t escape from you The walls are closing in Why do you think I can be cured? My anxiety hits panic I’m panicking

Call My Name 03:53
Do you ever feel like no-one listens Just feel the rhythm and follow me in your dreams One day I’ll find my way back to you and we’ll live in harmony But until then you got a make a life of your own And if you think I have left you here alone just try again - Wo-oh Try again - just open your eyes Go outside and walk into the night time Try again look up to the sky Find that star the burning flame And call my name And call my name And call my name Do you even know that people listen just get into position And follow me to there One day you’ll need to break off these chains You’ve gotta get away from the mayhem And I know you will survive and if you need some help ‘Cos you’re striving and striving for life Try again and call my name Call my name And call my name Find that star the burning flame Try again - just open your eyes Go outside and walk into the night-time Try again this time you won’t cry Find that star the burning flame You gotta pick yourself up you gotta try again You gotta lift yourself up ‘cause you’re better than this You gotta pick yourself up don’t treat life like a game You gotta lift yourself up and call my name Call my name Call my name Call my name

Stand Back 03:23
Yo - You call me DJ Bigmouth but that ain’t my real name Did you know it’s actually Shane You suckers are messed up in the brain Go get some surgery So you can see what you suckers are doing to me My life is changing rapidly Doing my work Instead of going berserk Over stupid things and bullies words This is just absurd You can take the mick out of this rap And I will laugh just the same as the last Hope you get bit in the ass Next time you breath you will need a gas mask Go to the toilet you don’t even ask I’ve had enough of this town trust I ain’t staying I will grab a taxi but I ain’t paying This is ending here Without the tears Unlike last years you gave me a reason to rap yeah cheers Learn to steer down the road of life Getting further from a knife I strive through life cause I have an education I will live through all operations I’m a lyrical miracle You will fall playing basketball Why are you so cruel? It seems like I’m running around like a mule Bullies - it’s time for you to stand back Listen to the bars I’m spitting in this track It’s time to leave us alone Don’t take that tone It’s time for you to go home It’s time for you to stand back Listen to the bars I’m spitting in this track It’s time to leave us alone Don’t take that tone It’s time for you to go home What would you do if the world ended and you were the only one left? Would you hide or would you come and help rebuild the glass all over the windowsill? Yeah still popping pills and drinking water still running on a treadmill. Please just calm down You’re making yourself look like a clown Take a minutes rest maybe it’s for the best. I’m in a scientific facility being tested I’m hearing messages. I got attacked when I was 13 by three mean boys I developed ptsd please help me. Now im stronger and more aware When bullies give me an evil dark stare. I feel like I’ve been devoured by a bear. Come against me mate come against you Boo hoo you lose that’s pretty unfortunate But I’m mature enough to say stop you will get dropped. I’ve been bullied for 4 years Don’t you think it’s time to go and leave me alone? Go on go home here you go use my phone You’re all alone I see why you moan all the time you feel pain too Listen to this rhyme this is for you

Headroom 03:22
I've got my own way of dealing with what I Thought was in your head but turns up in mine Keep it together and listen again Maybe this time I will hear what you say I need some room to think this through Give me some headroom Listen to the drums beating in my head If you can hear it then maybe I'm sane Crashing to earth in the comforting rain Keep it together and get up again Suddenly it falls apart Suddenly it breaks away Give me some space and I Will put it all back

Connect 04:20
When the world’s got no life left and the sky is full of clouds Everyone’s walking round like they’re defunct now All people hear are moan. Groans, whines - even sighs And I’m fed up of it - I’m fed up of it They’re controlled like puppets - some think they can rule the world Walking round and pushing everybody else down People suck lifetime out of every soul And I’m fed up of it - I’m fed up of it I wanna hear you scream out I’m tired of people being lifeless out and about I wanna hear you shout out There’s space for happiness no doubt Let you’re freedom flow out Connect your happiness to this world Finally people stand up - finally speak out There is space for happiness in this small world People are prepared to fight for their right to smile And I’m all in for this - I’m all in for this I wanna hear you scream out I’m tired of people being lifeless out and about I wanna hear you shout out There’s space for happiness no doubt Let you’re freedom flow out Connect your happiness to this world Don’t wait for the weight to drag you down Don’t wait for the weight to break you down Stop start again take control and mend Don’t wait for the wait to drag you down Don’t wait for the weight to break you down Stop start again take control and mend I wanna hear you scream out I’m tired of people being lifeless out and about I wanna hear you shout out There’s space for happiness no doubt Let you’re freedom flow out Connect your happiness to this world

Cliche 04:20
Let me show you who I am - C’mon Let’s go Let me show you what I got - you’re shot Come this way and I’ll let you pray that one day you gotta tie the knot - Get Hot! I’ve been living my life one step - no rewind It’s now my time to shine I need a nice guy to sweep me away To tell me that he loves me enough to stay Let me show you who I am I’ve been living my life one step - no rewind It’s now my time to shine Whoh - I don’t care where we go (It’s my time to shine) As long as you can let me show ya I’m what you need And that says enough So let’s not pretend you’re not keeping me up Look me in the eye - I’ll give you my attention I’ll treat you like my favourite sweet Up all night we get no sleep Nothing the same to me - (so free) Do you get the appeal - was it one night thing? (No ring) I won’t do this anymore Stupid guys are gone for sure I need a nice cute lovely guy sweet enough to stay He’d tell me how he feels yeh there’s no other way Nothing feels the same to me I’ve been living my life one step - no rewind It’s now my time to shine Whoh - I don’t care where we go (It’s my time to shine) As long as you can let me show ya I’m what you need And that says enough So let’s not pretend you’re not keeping me up Look me in the eye - I’ll give you my attention I’ll treat you like my favourite sweet Up all night we get no sleep Walk with me around the town You can show me off - you can show me now I like this feeling a little too much Don’t play nice - I like it rough

about

You are listening to ‘On The Record 8 - SPACE’. All the music you hear has been written, recorded and produced by young music makers from across Somerset alongside Actiontrack Performance Company. The theme for the album has once again provided an opportunity for wide interpretation and as ever we’ve been impressed at how the participants have engaged with the disciplines and creativity required in the recording process, some of who have never been in a recording studio before. Well done all!
