Different platforms Same old faces Facebook friends From empty spaces Picture after picture Insta-famous You’re worth more than false expectations Pretend that it’s reality but all you ever show is the good parts Pretend that it’s reality but all I ever see is the good parts Selfie-filter Playing pretend Supermodel How will it end? The camera’s always lying As we fix the pixels It’s not like the mirror It doesn’t make things clearer Chorus Pretend that it’s reality but all you ever show is the good parts Pretend that it’s reality but all I ever see is the good parts Just the good parts.

Nervous and lonely was all that I felt When it all started I was all by myself New beginning - leaving the past behind The atmosphere drained me of the courage I had Wanted to be happy but I ended up sad Cos all the people I knew were cold and unkind I was tired of the struggle every day And I knew inside me I couldn’t stay I’m starting on my journey and my journey starts here Making a fresh start - who knows what will appear I was starting to settle in Some people started to talk to me Which made me feel like I’m not alone anymore This made me feel like I had new friends And I couldn’t wait for this journey to start New friendships - leaving the past behind I was tired of the struggle every day And I knew inside me I couldn’t stay I’m starting on my journey and my journey starts here Making a fresh start - who knows what will appear

I’m moving on I’m gonna take that road Away from someone that I used to know I’m changing up for the better There’s nowhere I can’t go Standing still was yesterday’s new And you can watch it if you wanted to But it’s just an excuse - it’s me you’re gonna lose There’s a new way forward and a light that I’m gonna follow Where I’ll I can’t tell you but you’re gonna find out tomorrow And now that I’m free - I’m gonna use the love I used to give you a little on me And now that I’m free - I’m gonna use the love I used to give you a little on me And you can watch me as I go but I won’t wait to see you cry There’s a path that I am taking and you’re not by my side Cos I’m free - I’m gonna use the love I used to give you a little on me You can’t expect me to wait no more I got plenty new seeds to sow I’m not wasting my precious time Pick up your things and go There’s a new way forward and a light that I’m gonna follow And now you’re out of my life I know I’ve finally got a chance to be me And now that I’m free - I’m gonna use the love I used to give you a little on me And now that I’m free - I’m gonna use the love I used to give you a little on me And you can watch me as I go but I won’t wait to see you cry There’s a path that I am taking and you’re not by my side Cos I’m free - I’m gonna use the love I used to give you a little on me And now that I’m free - I’m gonna use the love I used to give you a little on me now And now that I’m free - you’re gonna miss the love I used to give you

I see your sad face and it tells me I’m wrong I thought that you could handle the toughest of songs Now I’ve listened (yeah) to all the things that you’ve said Cos you’re low on the blues Now the Blues are seen as a sort of disease You’ve gotta understand - just listen please Now I won’t do this anymore Cos you’re low on the blues I always wanna walk - I always try to fly But I never want to try it the way you try me So I’ve gotta prove what I can do For you - to you. For who? For you Cos I’m high off the blues High off the blues (x4) To you - for you. For who? For you I’m high off the blues Now we always try to meet with the beat of the track Forget all the times right behind my back When I’m on tour - I count to four I’m-a show you what I got then I will show you the door Cos I’m high off the blues High off the blues (x4) To you - for you. For who? For you I’m high off the blues

I’ve got a pocket full of dreams And that pocket sits next to me But the zip has broken and it’s tearing at the seams All that you can see is my body falling apart And all that I can feel is the debit to my heart Mr Conciliator how can you please Talk to the person inside of me And give them the strength to believe Mr Renovator can you please comprehend my puzzled mind And piece me back together Let the rain be my tears Help to guide me through my worst years I’ve got a head full of troubles Poison inside that never seems to leave me But there’s hope - oh there’s hope Just give me that hope so I can believe All that you can see is my body falling apart And all that I can feel is the debit to my heart Mr Conciliator how can you please Talk to the person inside of me And give them the strength to believe Mr Renovator can you please comprehend my puzzled mind And piece me back together Let the rain be my tears And them to guide me away from the hell In which I cannot remain If that it’s true happiness I wish to obtain So please Mr Conciliator - How can you please Talk to the person inside of me And give me the strength to believe Mr Renovator can you please comprehend my puzzled mind And piece me back together Let the rain be my tears Help to guide me through my worst years

No Borders 03:45
The only border’s in your mind And it’s too easy to be unkind We’re all people and we’re all together More alike than different It’s been that way forever Let it mix and let it blend No more enemies - just good friends If we move or if we stay Or whether we chose a different way Things are better when they come together Make a new place it’s the only way Things are better when they come together A brighter future and a brand new day People say you can’t ignore Every problem and every flaw But nobody is perfect - different but the same We all feel heat from sunshine and shelter from the rain Make it work and make it stick Make a new place - brick by brick When we work or when we play We can build the world a better day Things are better when they come together Make a new place it’s the only way Things are better when they come together A brighter future and a brand new day Pick me up when I fall Answer if you hear a call Build bridges up not walls

Every morning he sits at the back of the bus Always got his eyes on the floor Every morning he never looks up I wonder what he’s waiting for As I watch them in the same place every day I wonder if they’ll ever have to courage to say Something to break the ice It doesn’t have to be clever Just speak cos some things can’t be left unsaid Something to break the ice Cos I know you belong together So speak and lift the dark clouds - lift the dark clouds from you head And then this evening I saw her waiting for him Had a glimmer in her eye Stood there in silence as he came out of the crowd Not letting him pass her by And I saw them as they said a word or two A connection that’s too powerful to refuse Something to break the ice It doesn’t have to be clever Just speak cos some things can’t be left unsaid Something to break the ice Cos I know you belong together So speak and lift the dark clouds - lift the dark clouds from you head Now the words are spoken And the silence broken And I watch them disappear As off they went together Will this one last forever Maybe we all need to hear Something to break the ice It doesn’t have to be clever Just speak cos some things can’t be left unsaid Something to break the ice Cos I know you belong together So speak and lift the dark clouds - lift the dark clouds from your head

I’ve got something to tell you I’m informing all my friends you’ve been looking so fine I know they’re all jealous from the look in their eyes It’s getting close to midnight Babe You’re butterflies won’t die Looking in the mirror - watching time go by Waiting for a second - the day I call you mine I said I got something to tell you So you’d better listen right Out on the floor I need some more Dancing for the night All the nights that you saved me All the foods we tried All the dances you gave me You got me feeling like another type of light Those unforgettable nights Have got me feeling hazy I need to give some credit - credit to my baby I’ve got something to tell you Being with you feels so so right You’re everything - you’re everywhere It’s like another world you just open up and tear Video games and music fights Lonely sights and horror fright-nights No matter what we choose Every day’s got me feeling new I said I got something to tell you So you’d better listen right Out on the floor I need some more Dancing for the night You’re living through views You’re fighting for the blues Gotta love that part of you Love is a funny type of thing You get highs and lows before that ring It’s one big cycle of madness all the time I won’t let you go til the end of time All the nights that you saved me All the foods we tried All the dances you gave me You got me feeling like another type of light Those unforgettable nights Have got me feeling hazy I need to give some credit - credit to my baby

about

You’re listening to ‘On The Record 10 - Movement’.
The latest in the series of albums created by young music makers from across Somerset. A landmark moment - 10 records, and 10 tracks all reflecting this record’s theme - ‘Movement’. There are reflections on political movements, (Just the Good Parts, No Borders),
personal movement (New Beginning, I’m Free, Moving Up, Mr. Concilliator), physical movement, (Ride on a Bike), stories, (Something to Break the Ice), encouragement for movement (High off the Blues), and even movement through time, (Credit to my Baby).

Each track has been written, developed and produced by the ‘cast’ in collaboration with Actiontrack and we would once again like to
thank Sound Foundation Somerset for their ongoing support
in making this happen. We would also like to thank teachers,
parents and carers who have helped these young music
makers take part - particularly Rachael Parvin at
CYM - Taunton, and Andrew Gilham and Trevor Lloyd-Jones
at Holyrood Academy

Hugely varied genres and ideas, a lot of work
and really excellent collaborations have come
together to make this album - Well done
to all represented. Happy listening.
